See the best that Egypt has to offer from Cairo down to Aswan. You begin in Cairo, exploring this vast metropolis, including the Egyptian Museum, the pyramids at Giza, and Coptic Cairo.

 

Next, you’ll head to Aswan to bask in the beauty of southern Egypt. You will visit Philae Temple and the Unfinished Obelisk.

 

You will then embark on your 5-star cruise up the Nile, seeing the historical sites of Kom Ombo and Edfu along the way.

 

Once in Luxor, you will explore the tombs on the West Bank, and marvel at the temples on the East Bank.

    Tour Plan

    1

    Day 1

    Arrival In Cairo

    Your tour manager will meet and assist you at Cairo International Airport (arrival procedures by Discovery Travel Group). Then he will escort you to the hotel by exclusive air-conditioned deluxe vehicle.

     

    At your hotel, the tour manager will assist with a smooth check-in and review your holiday itinerary with you to establish and confirm pick-up times for each tour. 

     

    • Overnight in Cairo. 
    • Welcome drink included.
    • Meals: Dinner is available at the hotel or explore the nearby restaurants (at your cost). You may also decide to participate in an optional dinner out.

    Day 2

    Pyramids of Giza And Sakkara

    After breakfast, you will be accompanied by your personal guide to the Giza Plateau to visit the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus, along with the famous Sphinx and the Valley Temple facing the great statue.

     

    You may choose the additional visit to the Solar Boat in front of Cheops Pyramid (extra ticket on the spot). Then, it’s time to head back to the hotel. Dinner is on your own; why not take one of our optional Nile Dinner tours, or the dinner and Tanoura show tour?

    Day 3

    The Egyptian Museum, Coptic Cairo, and Islamic Cairo

    After breakfast in the hotel, you will spend your day discovering the rich origins of Egypt’s ancient civilization, along with its two major religions: Coptic Christianity and Islam.

     

    First, you’ll proceed to the Egyptian Museum to see many displays, including the treasures from the child king Tutankhamen, alongside many other fascinating artifacts. You may choose to take the additional visit to the mummies' room at the museum (extra ticket on the spot).

     

    Next, you will head to Coptic Cairo to learn about the Holy Family’s stay in Egypt during a time of persecution in their homeland. After lunch, you will go to Islamic Cairo to learn about mosque architecture and Islam’s history in Egypt.

     

    Then it’s time to head back to your hotel to rest up for your flight to Luxor the next morning.

    Day 4

    West Bank Luxor Sites And Edfu

    After breakfast on board your cruise, visit the West Bank. Take an excursion to the royal cemetery for 62 pharaohs, the Valley of the Kings, then visit the mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and finally the Colossi of Memnon. After lunch, sail onwards to Edfu.

     

    • Dinner on board your cruise.
    • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

    Day 5

    Edfu And Kom Ombo

    After breakfast on your Nile cruise, visit the well-preserved Ptolemaic Temple dedicated to Horus at Edfu.

     

    Next, sail to Kom Ombo to see the unique Temple of Sobek, dedicated to two prominent Egyptian figures, Sobek, the crocodile, and Horus, the falcon-headed figure.

     

    Have your lunch on board. Continue sailing to Aswan. Enjoy dinner on board.

     

    • Overnight on board your cruise boat.

    Day 6

    Aswan

    After breakfast on your Nile cruise, enjoy a day’s sightseeing in Aswan.

     

    Start with the High Dam and the largest known ancient obelisk, located in the northern region of the stone quarries of ancient Egypt, the Unfinished Obelisk; this is a great chance to see modern and ancient building techniques.

     

    Next, head to the picturesque Philae Temple, which sits on an island (transportation by boat included).

     

    • Dinner and overnight on board the Nile cruise.
    • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

    Day 7

    Aswan To Cairo

    Disembark from your cruise ship after breakfast. You will be driven to the airport to take your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo, you will be met by one of our representatives and taken to your hotel. 

     

    The rest of the day is at your leisure; This is a great opportunity to check out some of our optional Cairo activities, such as a Nile dinner cruise or the Tanoura show in Khan el Khalili.

     

    • Meals: Breakfast on the cruise boat in Aswan.

    Day 8

    Departure From Cairo To Home

    Breakfast at the hotel in Cairo. Enjoy some free time before your flight. Check-out and transfer to Cairo International Airport for final departure.

     

    You should be at the airport three hours prior to flight departure.
