Admire one of the most famous museum collections in the world at the Egyptian Museum near famous Tahrir Square.
After surrounding yourself with Egypt’s ancient artifacts, visit Egypt’s major medieval site, the Citadel of Salah El Din, built between 1176-1183.
You will also get to see the Mosque of Mohamed Ali, built by the ruler Mohamed Ali between 1828-1848.
After this, enjoy your lunch, and then visit one of the Middle East’s oldest souks (markets), Khan El Khalili; wander the labyrinth of narrow streets and find yourself a treasure from one of the hundreds of vendors.
Finally, end your day with a trip to Coptic Cairo, a place of great significance for Christianity’s Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.
N.B.: In the case of pick-up from either Heliopolis or the 6th of October areas, there is a supplement of $5 USD per person.

First - Egyptian Museum
A Discovery Travel Group representative will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Egyptian Museum.
Your guide will take you on a trip through Egyptian history by viewing some of the museum's most significant and interesting pieces, including the treasures found in 1920 by Howard Carter and his team in King Tutankhamun’s tomb.
With over 250,000 artifacts, there’s sure to be something to interest every visitor.
Next - Citadel of Salah El Din
You will take a trip to medieval Cairo to visit the Citadel of Salah El Din (best known for its role in the Crusades).
You will wander the fortress up to the Mosque of Mohamed Ali and gaze upon its beautiful geometric decorations inside.
The Citadel is one of the best locations to get a view of the entire city of Cairo.
Following the Citadel - Khan El Khalili
You will be taken to Khan El Khalili, located in the heart of Cairo’s medieval quarter.
Wander through the alleyways and discover a special keepsake to bring home while marveling at the stunning medieval architecture that surrounds you.
Next - Coptic Cairo
You will visit Coptic Cairo. Over 10% of Egypt’s population is Coptic, following a form of the Eastern Orthodox religion.
Learn about the holy sites in Coptic Cairo that are directly related to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, who spent some time in Egypt after escaping persecution.
You will visit the Hanging Church, the Church of St. Barbara
Last - After Exploring
