In addition, check out the Roman catacombs, the ruins of a Roman temple complex, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and the Citadel of Qaitbay. In between your site visits, you will enjoy a traditional seafood meal from Egypt’s Mediterranean coast.

Tour Plan
First - Roman Catacombs
A Discovery Travel Group representative will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo, and then you will drive to Alexandria.
First, you will drive to the Roman catacombs to explore these wondrous tombs.
Next - Pompey’s Pillar
You will see Pompey’s Pillar, constructed to honor Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century.
Next - Lunch
It is then time to enjoy a lovely lunch at a restaurant.
After Lunch - Qaitbay Citadel
You will see the 15th-century Qaitbay Citadel at the Eastern tip of the Alexandria harbourfront, built on the spot where the ancient lighthouse once stood.
Next - Roman Theatre
It is time to visit the Roman Theatre.
Last - Bibliotheca Alexandria
You will end your day in Alexandria with a visit to the Bibliotheca Alexandria, which hosts a marvelous collection of books and artifacts.
Afterward, it will be time to drive back to Cairo.
